Mothers Day has been around for a while now and nobody seems to question how it started and why. They just do “the usual,” with the flowers, card, and special dinner or what have you. It’s pretty meaningful stuff and especially in America, everyone eats it up. The point in bringing up this subject is to find out and inform everyone of how this interesting trend started in the first place. What better place to find it than Wikipedia.com? Here’s an excerpt of information you might not know about Mother’s Day:
One school of thought claims this day emerged from a custom of mother worship in ancient Greece, which kept a festival to Cybele, a great mother of Greek gods. This festival was held around the Vernal Equinox around Asia Minor and eventually in Rome itself from the Ides of March (15 March) to 18 March.
The ancient Romans also had another holiday, Matronalia, that was dedicated to Juno, though mothers were usually given gifts on this day.
In some countries Mother’s Day began not as a celebration for individual mothers but rather for Christians.
(And another interesting piece) Mother’s Day is now the most popular day of the year to dine out at a restaurant in the United States.
I’m sure you were one of those people complaining about the long wait and the bad service! Apparently everyone and their mother are waiting in line to get eats on Mother’s Day. On a personal note, it sounds like I was lucky to be at home hanging out with my Mom having a toasted peanut butter and banana sandwich! Happy Mother’s Day Mom!
Anyway, you all know the drill, give your mom a big thanks and let her know she’s appreciated for all the great things shes done and continues to do for some of us. Hopefully yours was enjoyable. Until next year,
Happy Mothers Day!

What exactly is “Open Blogging” anyway? We weren’t sure at first actually, it was just an idea that our Creative Director stumbled upon while pondering ideas in the shower one evening (no kidding). An “Open” or “Community” Blog allows its members to post relevant content for free, in an attempt to build an interesting community resource, that is our definition, anyway.
From there it was immediately thrown out because of the lack of control such an arrangement poses, and the fact that it’s probably been done a thousand times. Plus, how many people would actually be interested in doing such a thing? It seems as if the biggest majority of internet goers are doing their own thing these days and staying away from the regular scheme of big name websites and overrun ideas. After about seven minutes of throwing the idea out completely, research had commenced. An all out “dig the search engines in hopes of not finding a similar idea so we can have an extra little niche in the internet world before its too late and theres nothing we can do about it,” kind of search.
Well after doing some research, which you can do as well, around search engines and other blogs- it seemed that there was no significant setup for community/website members to login and write blog entries. Wikipedia was about the closest match we could find, every other site was hogging up their precious space by content provided by the same group of authors, almost a little boring!
So anyhow, we decided to take a stab at it and see what we can brew up here. As of May 10, 2008, about two weeks after the development started, we’re now sorting out several bugs and issues with the system. Currently, users are available to register and start posting articles, which we encourage of course. The content is minimal for now until we launch our advertising campaign, if all goes well, in mid June to early July. Until then, we are accepting members to help us build up some early content and test the waters and find out what we can and can’t do. And as a side note, we are very impressed with everything Wordpress is capable of and the site is proudly powered by it.
If you have any concerns, comments, or questions, just leave them below in the comments area. Or if you’d rather it not be viewable by the public, use our contact form.

When a post is written by a member, it is not automatically published and archived on the website. Each and every post is monitored by the administration, which can either be accepted or rejected, simple as that. Authors should follow closely with the IncTrade posting guidelines before attempting to submit a post. In order to have your post accepted, you’d probably want to keep these things in mind:
Warning: If a post contains any information, picture, link, ad, attempted ad code, links to ads, pornography, malicious code, or any other contraband, it will be rejected immediately and your account will be permanently banned.
- Quality Content. This means interesting, useful, helpful, cool, creative, and on subject. Note: “On Subject,” means relevant to the category title.
- Pictures. It is important these days to have them, please provide good and relevant photos. At the least, upload a “title” photo for the top left corner.
- Links and relevant information. If any information within a post was taken from any other source, there MUST be a link at the bottom for your post. Also links are useful for a “check this out”.
- Length. Make sure a post has adequate information. Five sentences won’t cut it- but don’t write a novel, it is still a post.
- Tags. Please don’t write a post without using any tags. Tags are relevant keywords to your post, which are necessary for searching, so don’t forget them.
- SEO. We have a built in Search Engine Optimization tool which helps engines find the content. Please fill in the information (Title, Description, Keywords), and be brief on the description.
- Category. Please check ONE relevant category in which to publish your information. Make sure that you have selected the correct category, one that is most relevant to the content.
- “Advanced Options. Do NOT use advanced options, they are for use with administrator pages only. They do not need to be modified what-so-ever, and any post attempting to use will be rejected.
- Date. Do not attempt to edit the publish date of a post, if it is not set for “publish immediately,” it will not be accepted.
- Publish Status. Be sure to select the status “Published,” form the drop down and then submit your post by clicking “Publish”.
This post was written in order to test the Contributor Authorization function and to provide a secondary search result for “guidelines” of posting.

This may look like a long distance shot of a restored castle from back in the day, or a picture from a high school history book, but it’s not. Actually, this is a close up picture of a castle made entirely of Legos. Believe it or not, but there is this one and an entire city to go along with it. A good friend of ours discovered this during a trip to Germany. I’m not quite sure of the details as far as location, who created it or why, but I do believe this is worth a nice chunk of change. Within the city, there is a Lego Colosseum, an airport, a soccer (football) field, and more. Whoever it is that had this idea probably ended up banking from this now that it is a standing structure and thousands of people view it every day. I know the next time I’m in Germany, I’ll be sure to stop and check it out. Being the fact that this is IncTrade, its important to mention the business side of things in this. If you think about the investment, it couldn’t be more than a few hundred dollars to buy enough legos for a city (probably 200,000 pieces?). Having the skill is another thing, but had you created one, the return on the investment could be phenomenal to display it at arts and craft shows. Just a thought. Anyhow, below are some pictures, some in more detail, of the logo city.

Lego airport terminal, yes the inside of the plane has detail too.

The entire city, very intricate.

A Venice like city, the water is real.

Yes, all of those are actually lego people. It is supposed to be somewhat of a lego Colosseum.
After looking around a little bit, I found a very interesting link to this stuff. Apparently it is a big deal and people do this as a hobby… and some as a profession. Here’s a link to some other lego cities if you’re interested. Enjoy.

There’s a tendency in everyone to share information. As a frequent visitor of BusinessWeek Online, I always check up on the Best Young Entrepreneur section. Below is our share with you of an ideal candidate for any entrepreneur award. He’s the perfect example of a growing business person that hasn’t quite blown up the charts, but has the goal in sight to do so.
The definition of a “young” entrepreneur is changing, this is why Ben is remarkable. It seems that the majority of young entrepreneurs are in their lower to mid twenties, which used to be young, but people like Ben are really changing that all around. This is an increasing number of “baby boomers,” as we like to call them. They’re showing up everywhere lately- especially in the design and software industries. Perhaps they have been around for a while and the media is beginning to find a niche in it? For those in situations similar to Ben’s, we recommend you get out there and spread your name. If you’ve got a great idea and you’re only 15, why not? Let us know here at IncTrade what you’ve got going on… even better, let the world know your great ideas- theres never enough young talent out there!
